ATTEMPT II
As the narrative progresses, the attempt to block the space is once again reconfigured. The rigid and static Mikado Sticks are exchanged with the untethered and free-floating sphere. The narrative significance of Attempt II becomes an ascension to a metaphysical plane, where Attempt O and Attempt I are challenged by the sphere’s expansion of spatial ambiguity. It is as if, Klaas’ storytelling of attempting to block the space is saying that the narrative is unpredictable. Here, the narrative just like the sphere deconstructs the rigidities of interpretation; it exists in a state of simultaneous abyss and totality.
ATTEMPT II
Naarmate het verhaal vordert, wordt de poging om de ruimte te blokkeren opnieuw geconfigureerd. De stijve en statische Mikadostokken worden ingeruild voor een ongebonden en vrij zwevende ballon. De verhalende waarde van Attempt II is een opwaardering naar een metafysisch niveau waarmee Attempt O en Attempt I worden uitgedaagd door de uitbreiding van de ruimtelijke ambiguïteit van de ballon. Het is alsof Klaas’ verhaal van de pogingen de ruimte te blokkeren zegt dat het narratief onvoorspelbaar is. Hier deconstrueert het verhaal evenals de ballon de starheid van de interpretatie; het bestaat tegelijkertijd als afgrond en totaliteit.
